The Spa Within uses only the highest quality depilatory products for its spa waxing services. Soft and hard wax are warmed at low heat and are applied just above skin temperature, making it gentle yet effective. Pre-Depilatory Oil and Antiseptic Lotion are used to prep the skin’s surface.
To start, the area that will be waxed will be cleaned and disinfected. Soft wax, used for larger areas, is applied thinly and removed with paper or muslin strips. Hard wax, used on smaller areas such as the bikini zone and face, is applied thickly and allowed to dry before the esthetician removes. Wax is always removed in the direction opposite of the hair growth. After the area is clean of wax residue, a cream is applied. The entire hair follicle should be seen on the strip if done correctly. For those with sensitive skin, waxing can be painful. You should also exfoliate your skin the day before and avoid using lotions the day of your wax.
